Oh heyhey!!

So most of you I think are in the baby name group on Facebook, right?
I'm just going to assume you all shouted "yes!" to that!

Wellll, there has been quite a few questions about peoples guilty pleasure names and I realized that I literally don't have any.
I mean, I'm sure if I went through my giant list of names saved on my computer I could find a few but if you were to ask me, I wouldn't have any names to just throw out at the top of my head.

So tonight when someone asked on the Facebook group about what everyone's GP names were, I really thought about it and came up with 4 names for each gender.

Here they are:

Girls

-Bristol: I know a lot of people hate this name because of Palin's but whatever. I'm in Canada, I could give to craps about them. I just think its a cool name.

-Landry: Even though this name sounds like the word laundry and laundry is one of the things I hate most in life, I just really love this name for some odd reason.

-Kensington: One of my favourite bloggers has a daughter named Kensington and she is just the sweet little thing you ever did see and I am obsessed with her name. I think its super elegant sounding and I just love it.

-Capri: Ya ya, I know it reminds you of capri pants but I think its super sweet. And Colbie Caillaits song called Capri is just love ♥

Boys

-Justice: I'm not going to tell you the reason I love this name because well I just don't want some to Google it some day and be like CREEPER. But its just a fricken cool name to me!

-Abel: I had the name Abel Cash on my list for quite a while and I thought it was so badass but I just couldn't see me using it or having a kid with the name so I guess you could consider a GP since I still love it.

-Hartley: I think I would actually use this name if I grew some balls. But right now I don't have any soooo its on the GP list. I just think its so cute and with the nickname Hart.. Ahhh ::::swoon::::

-Maverick: I'm a reality TV junky .. A girl on the Real Housewives of OC has a song named Maverick and I think its so awesome! He is adorable so it makes me love it more. I also Hayley post that Maverick Sage is on her GP list and I almost died, its sooooo perfect!!!!

What are you GP names?

Different Spellings

Today I want to talk about spellings of names.  I'm hoping to have a Choosing The Name Series post for you next time!!

Now typically I choose traditional spelling of names, but there is many spellings of many different names.  I'll list some examples, tell you the spelling I like best and then you comment below of the spelling YOU like best!!

  • Jackson Vs. Jaxon --> I've always liked Jackson, but recently met a baby Jaxon and he's so stickin cute so I think that is why I started liking that spelling.  And now I almost like Jaxon better then Jackson...Jaxon seems more simplier.
  • Kendall Vs. Kendyl --> I'm also a little bias on Kendyl as I have a favorite kid at daycare named this, but if I had to choose I would probably pick Kendall!  I'm also bias on Kendall as I have a cousin spelled that way ;)
  • Mark Vs. Marc --> Mark is what I like
  • Addison Vs. Addyson --> I like Addison more, looks better in my opinion
  • Cameron Vs. Kameron Vs. Kamryn --> I might be bias againi on Kamryn, but I honestly think it's cutier...but then again many people would spell this wrong!!
  • Sarah vs. Sara --> I don't really have a preference, but if I had to choose I would pick Sara!
  • Kaitlyn, Katelyn, Kaitlin, Katelynn, Katlyn, Kaitlynn, Katelin, Katlynn, Kaitlin, Caitlyn, Caitlynn -->  I like Caitlin the best!
  • Catherine Vs. Katherine --> Catherine...I'm traditional!
  • Shawn Vs. Sean --> Shawn!  I like it looks more like it is spelled!

What other names do you see with many spellings?!  Have a great week :)

my top names!

Hey all! Hope everyone had a great week. It's that time again for me where I have combos and a relative amount of confidence in them, so, here's a look at my current top combos!

Audrey Claire
Audrey is an English name meaning noble. In the Olympics, there was an adorable Canadian moguls skier named Audrey Robichaud who overnight made this go from one of my most hated names to one I cant get enough of! Claire is a French name meaning clear, bright and famous. This is my nana's name and one of my long time favorites. I'd love to be able to use it as a first, but my syllable OCD just wont let that happen!

Piper Alison
Piper is an English name meaning one who plays the flute. I think this name is so spunky and fun but still very sweet. It's another long time favorite. I also love the association with the Charmed character. Alison is a French name derived from Alice, meaning noble. Alison is to honor one of my best friends, Alyssa.

Leah Paige
Leah is a Hebrew name meaning weary. I've always been a huge fan of this name but didn't like the spelling. I considered the Lia spelling but it just didn't look substantial enough for me. This spelling has def just kept growing on me in the last little while. Paige is an English name meaning one who is a servant. It honors another of my best friends. I think Paige is super spunky and perf as a middle name to balance out the ultra classic feel of Leah.

Hunter Douglas
Hunter is an English name meaning one who is a hunter. This is my all time favorite name. I just think its so masculine and strong and cool! Douglas is a Scottish name meaning dark river. This is my dads name and all though its not a fav per se, I can't imagine not using it.

Bowen Isaac "Bo"
Bowen is an English name meaning son of Owen. It's a recent fav of mine. I love the nickname Bo/Beau but was having a hard time finding a first I liked. Since Owen bounces on and off my favs, Bowen was a natural choice. Isaac is a Hebrew name meaning he laughs. It's my uncle's name, a cousin's name and my brother's middle so although it's a long time fav it'd be just a bit too confusing to use as a first.

Jacob Sullivan "Jake"
Jacob is a Hebrew name meaning holder of the heal. I know a lot of people don't dig Jacob because of how popular it is, but I just love everything about this name. It's a masculine and classic and Jake is the cutest nickname! Sullivan is and Irish name meaning little dark eye. It's my last name and I think it'd be a nice way to honor my whole fam.

Those are my top combos of right now! wdyt? leave yours in the comments :)
